International Tongue Twister Day: resource pack for Spani

International Tongue Twister Day has been held annually on the second Sunday in November since 2011. It is a light-hearted day which focusses on phonetics, speech articulation and alliterative word play.

Some of the benefits of saying tongue twisters:

•They aid speech and articulation by helping to strengthen the tongue, lips and jaw muscles for clearer pronunciation.

•They are useful vocal warm-ups, often used by actors, singers and public speakers before a performance.

•They help language learners to practise tricky sounds.

•Everyone makes mistakes when saying tongue twisters – mistakes are the fun part. So they can lower anxiety about speaking.

This resource pack comprises a PowerPoint presentation with 26 Spanish tongue twisters.

On each of the 26 tongue twister pages you will see the sound or sounds that the tongue twister focusses on. There is also a further note to indicate if the tongue twister is an authentic Spanish one. The remainder were suggested using AI and often slightly tweaked by me. Each page also has a QR code which links to an audio file of that tongue twister’s pronunciation.
